Clothing woven by hand

I always had a deep love for vintage treasures, old techniques, special textures & patterns, and especially handmade crafts. When looking for the right production partners for Dear Aline, it was natural to me to look in places that celebrate their culture and thus keep their crafts alive. I was especially drawn to the rich culture of Mexico and their history of weaving textiles with wooden pedal looms, where every yarn is woven into beautiful fabric by hand. To me this isn’t just clothing, it is an art form that gets passed down from generation to generation. Each of our fabrics is made by the hands of a true artist!

Weaving Workshop

Our fabrics are ethically made, handwoven by Mexican Artisans on wooden pedal looms, preserving this beautiful traditional technique. The workshop is led by a native family, who is a substantial part of the local community, providing ethical work and a better livelihood for the people of surrounding villages.

Their weaving workshop is located in the mountains of Chiapas, about a two-hour drive from the next city. The environment and especially the people Dear Aline partners with are very important to me. I took the chance to visit this beautiful and inspiring place in 2020, to meet the people and to see first-hand what the atmosphere and working conditions are like.

I am honored and very proud to be able to work with these talented and innovative people, who carry this very important and beautiful Mexican craft to the next generation.

Sewing Workshop

The finished textiles are passed on to a local sewing workshop in the next small city. Here the clothes are produced under fair and ethical conditions, by a small team of skilled seamstresses. The workshop was founded by a native family who is working and living as a part of the local community, bringing new opportunities to the city.

The two families know each other and are working together very closely for Dear Aline. To be able to produce the Collection from start to finish with these partners and have a short way of transportation for all production steps, is a dream come true. Same as the weaving workshop, I was able to visit this place together with my husband Benji and meet the people sewing our clothes.

I am proud and happy to have the opportunity to work with this sewing workshop, that has been working hard to create the best quality products for Dear Aline and surely will be a great partner for years to come.
